Charlie report $9000 in the bank!
Charlie discussed grants
- Mats Health Foundation grant is possibility. Charlie will apply next week and we may be able to get 5,000.00. We can also apply for their tier two grant in the future which is a longer process with the possibility of a large sum as well.
Playground design discussed.
John Dean is working on the final drawing. He will send them to us as soon as he has them, along with the materials list. We have a large bill coming due in December.
Donor List discussed
We still have some businesses on the major donor list that need a committee member to contact them. If you can help us out please contact Caitlin at 733 1099. We have sold the Denali Climbing Wall and also the Grizzly Bear Tunnel. Please keep this in mind when you are contacting possible donors. It is possible to pay for a component in payments, instead of one large sum.
Wine/Dessert Fundraiser
We have found a distributor that is willing to donate the wine. Location will be Whole-wheat radio. Laurel and Christie will head-up the event
there will be 5-6 desserts paired with wine. The date is confirmed for February 9. Laurel and Christie will have a volunteer sign up sheet. laf@safe-mail.net seaymon@yahoo.com Please contact them if you would like to help with this event. Elizabeth Tatara is organizing the silent auction donations.

Playground Tiles (Tasja)
Tasja is researching how we will make the tiles. We decided to sell them for a suggested donation (20.00?) But we will not refuse anyone if they don't have the money so all the kids can be apart of the playground. We will need to decide what events we would like to sell them at. Hopefully we can get our act together and sell them at a winter fest event? We can sell them right up until the build. Laurel will help
Booth at PTA bazaar discussed this Saturday December 1st.
Anita will do a few hours in the afternoon. 1-4. We still are looking for someone who is not shy to talk to the public about the playground to set up on Saturday and work for a few hours. Say anytime between 9:30am -1pm Please contact Karey 733-8728 if you can help.
Picket Sales.
We have 400 pickets to sell. This is a huge portion of our fundraising plan. If we sell them all we will bring in 15,000.00 But we need to sell them!
They are 50.00 each. You can print out a picket form on our web site www.talkeetnaplayground.org. We also now have paypal on the web site so its very easy to buy a picket even if you live in Antarctica! So, here is a challenge to all of you on this email list. Lets all try to sell at least 4 pickets between now and our next meeting (Tuesday December 4th). More if your able! Its going to take a group effort to raise enough money to enable us to build our playground. SELL PICKETS! Sell them to relatives that live out of state. Just direct them to our web page. What a great Christmas present to help us build our community a playground.
