In attendance: Noelle Carbone, Sharon Montagnino, Karey Larson, Laura Caillet, Laurel Vincente, Anita Golton, Lisa Shelby, Tasja Williams, Charlie Loeb, Barbara Holmes, Dave Johnston, Nancy Juergens.
Financial update:
Charlie reported that the Wine & Dessert fundraiser, after expenses, raised over $5,000.00. This includes sponsorships we received. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a success!
Total fundraising: $61,500.00 so far.
The Rasmussen Foundation is contemplating giving a Challenge Grant to TCPP. It will match dollar for dollar the money we raise, up to $25k, by a set date. The committee feels that this will give us the extra push needed in fundraising since we soon need to switch our focus to building preparation. Charlie will continue communicating with Rasmussen and set things up to start the challenge.
Land update:
Linda Brenner is out of the office indefinitely due to a family emergency. The report sent by Land Design North is incorrect and has already been sent to the borough. Charlie is dealing with correcting the report. Noelle is contacting Tom Kluberton about needing his help to keep the land acquisition process moving forward. She will update him on where we are with the playground. Dave Johnson shared his bridge design that he sent to Land Design North in December. Leon Smith is coming 2/25 through 3/2. It would be useful to have the site marked for him to walk.
Organizational Day:
March 10th at Whole Wheat Radio. Schedule will be posted. Captains and all committee heads need to attend. Laura and Karey will head up O.D., Laura will contact captains. Build date is set for 6/4 – 6/8.
Anita will have a meeting with artists to begin planning the artwork on 2/26.
The Playground will be the topic on Su Valley Voice on KTNA on 2/28.
Next fundraiser:
The Barn Dance. Noelle is still waiting to firm up dates with the band. Hoping to hold it the last week in March or first week in April. Heather Krompacky will head up a raffle for kid’s merchandise donated by Alaska Mountain Magic. Barbara will head up organizing the Barn Dance. She will ask Margareth to work with her. Tasja will work with the kids group in helping out. Possibly taking on the bake sale for the event.
