Design

1. comments should have been to Anita by Oct. 1st
2. cost of playground 90,000-120,000
3. Leon’s portion will be around 30,000
4. Plus fencing and parking
5. Talk of downsizing leathers designed was discussed to fit Leon’s portion
6. Ask community to donate artistic benches
7. Possibly leave out log hut and mosaic bench
8. Would like more swings incorporated into design

Site

1. meeting with Friends of Library, they are in support of south side of library as long as it does not in any way interfere with a new library being built
2. Laura read John Dean’s letter in regards to design changes and survey which will need to be completed by Nov. 16th

-Early December $15,000-20,000 design fee will be due to Leathers

-Will get a material list on the 19th with prices

-Should have 100 volunteers by Oct 19th

-Discussion of May build was discussed with possibilities of an opening on Mothers Day – need to find out how feasible it is to dig in May.

Donation Tiers
It was decided that we would come up with price tiers and let children’s committee help decided what they will be at a later date (mountain, rivers, trees etc.) We will need 6 categories with 5 names. Tasja will help coordinate this with children’s committee.

$250-1000
$1000-5000
$5-10,000
$10,000 plus

these tiers will be on a card included with a letter (written by Erica) to be given out by Suzanne Rust of K2 to large tour companies at the upcoming ATIA conference.

October Fund Raiser – Magic Show – Oct 27th   Contact Lisa Shelby  733-9873

Schedule – Mini magic show (ages 4-8) 3-4pm
Magic workshop (ages 9-16) 4-5:30
Magic show  (all ages)  7:30  doors open at 7pm

1. find baby sitter –Amanda Olson has volunteered
2. tickets -Erica has someone who can create tickets
3. Charlie volunteered to work table
4. After much discussion it was decided to do a simple door raffle rather than a pre-sold raffle. So far none of the items donate work for larger raffle, but are perfect for smaller raffle at the event.
5. Lisa will get workshop sign up packet, and tickets to Talkeetna Travel
6. Advance ticket purchase will only happen at Talkeetna Travel during normal business hours
7. This will be an awesome event – very professional and we need to sell a lot of tickets Here are the times of events:

Research and help need with the following:

1. chain link fence aprox 700feet (Noelle will research)
2. help with donated materials ??
3. come up with upcoming events in which to have a playground booth and create a packet that would go to each which would included, design, volunteer list, info about the project etc. ??
4. find a surveyor willing to donate to the project ???
